If the majority do not like how a certain player proceeds about their game, and mods/ hosts aren’t pulling an effort to solve the issue, then a good solution would be to endlessly policy lynch this player until they vow to change their playstyle.
That would to a certain extent be gamethrowing, which is in fact against the rules.

As for Flowa, it’s progress she endured to D5 and she seems to actually be trying. If yall talked to her nicely, I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Or ya, hosts can add a rule to their games just over one player, that’s down to them 😂

The End and the Beginning
we can simply have a poll, no?
I'm not going to have a community referendum. That invites several issues, such as this whole thing becoming a witch hunt, it sets a bad precedent (because then, the next controversial thing could be expected to come down to community vote, which then gets decided by those who are vocal and loud), and lastly, it being a recent issue means people's perception is going to be influenced.

I don't believe in forcing hosts to enact specific rules. Ultimately, it's their games that are affected, and they should have the right to have the final say on that. If I decree that you must modkill for trust tells, then anything that falls under that umbrella must be enacted upon, which isn't fair to the host. I think it's much better for them to have their freedom to act on it as they see fit - I will be updating the rules after this current game to advise hosts that they *can* modkill for this stuff, and to outline in their sign up thread what rules they will be using for their game. That way, players signing up know exactly what they're getting into.

I believe that's completely fair. At the end of the day, we are all adults here - we should to a degree be able to self-police ourselves, which includes having the freedom to choose what we find objectionable or not. Another issue with leaving this to a poll, Charlie, is what if Player Y, who hosts games, has no issue with allowing truth tells, but the community votes against it? Player Y then is subject to having their games undermined by behaviour they have no specific issue with, because others decided for them. I don't feel like that's how it should be done - I'm an advocate for as much freedom for hosts as possible.

Worstgen does not have a competitive Mafia community. Bastard games are freely available, with the expectation that they're noted as such. Rules are, generally, more relaxed than you would find on sites that are exclusively for Mafia. I believe that's a necessity - many players here do not come here just for Mafia.

Of course, I don't want players to feel like their time is being wasted either. That's why I encourage hosts to have the freedom to enact on behaviour they do not want to be a part of their games.

Something like a truth tell done over the course of multiple games by one or more players is not gamethrowing, it is forum-throwing. It goes against the point of the game, which is forcing people to make a certain read of you through threadplay, an actual effort to play the game, and if you fail then so be it, better luck next time.

It is a good thing that people want to win at Mafia games, but there should be standards
The fact that the majority is uniting against this way of playing is telling by itself, and if you don’t listen to the majority then the entire community is a lost cause. A drama that is totally unnecessary and avoidable by having certain standards that at the very least can create equal grounds for old players and new players alike.

A poll would be the ideal solution true.
