That's about right. It's not a totally accurate/complete simulation of the Quantum World, it's merely meant to introduce some concepts. There are several versions of Quantum Chess, depending on how many principles and phenomena are applied to the game.
In general you definitely find the most basic ones, like superposition by which a piece can occupy more than one square in game terms. Or the superposition of the quantum pieces collapsing with the pieces being removed from the game.
In Classic Chess algorithms can simply just beat World Class Champions, but this unpredictability can align the two.
