It’s not just the dark theme.
1. the death of Pa Kent was so stupid. Pa telling Superman to let him die is just so counter to both characters
2. The battle of Zod felt like I was watching a disaster movie where the story’s about having to survive when Superman comics constantly are about Superman saving anyone and everyone and actively limits collateral damage.
3. The constant “god imagery” is not Superman. He’s not a god on earth and never was meant to be.
Then how you'd connect it to Batman vs Superman and Justice League?

The amount of collateral and god image is what triggered Batman vs Superman and that movie was what triggered Justice League.

Man of Steel takes it.

The new Superman isn't bad but man, he simply cannot beat Henry Cavill. Imo Henry Cavill is THE superman just like how Christian Bale was THE batman.

Also, I gave the movie a chance and some scenes were accurat and good but I just didn't like the narrative at all. Scene switch happened so randomly and I often didn't understand what happened.
I love Henry Cavill....but his superman was hot garbage. Boring af stocism.

I honestly loved how Snyder made Superman more humane, like struggling with his daily life, showing real emotions, doubting himself.
The action scenes were also great about this movie and I liked the animations and choreography.
There's a big difference between making superman "humane" and making him "depressed".
This isn't bojack horseman.
Also, it's the INTRO movie for the character.

Any regular superman story has these things. Including the most comically stupid ones like "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" which is one of the best superman stories. Kingdom Come is a good "older Superman" example that is not "edgy" and show a lot of Superman's struggles, especially in a world that starts deeming him "outdated" and "boring".

Snyder didn't invent the wheel as far as "humane" superman goes, but he sure did a lousy job at it.
I UNDERSTAND the scene of his father's death, but man....it's a bad Superman movie for things like that.

We have so many better Superman adaptations, man. Like....idk what to tell you.
As I've said, I have no issues at all with you liking the movie. I like it as well, but you gotta see how bad of a movie, ESPECIALLY a Superman movie it is.
I treat it as a "what if" story and that's all.

BUt Snyder Batman did kill.
Quite a lot, actually.
So..............................................................
:AlexChills:
The amount that Snyder fucked up every DC character in his verse is genuinely insane.
Post automatically merged:

Where he did that? He couldn't avoiding all lives that were killed doesn't mean he is killing people as collateral damage.
You mean when he flew Zod through a populated building?

Man of Steel was decent, and also very much of its time in the post 9/11 America era. There was little joy in it.

Superman is really good.

I like them both but there’s no competition.

It’s not even fair to compare them, Superman had Guy Gardner and Mr Terrific.
