Break Week Marco being in Wano might as well be filler

He objectively served zero purpose in the war. I guess he held off King and Queen for some time, I guess that was something worth including him in the arc for, I guess.

I feel like this was such a pointless reason for him to be in wano, especially when Oda went through the trouble of setting up this plot point in zou. If all he was needed for was to stall king and queen, Oda could have just had Usopp shoot them with sea stone cuffs and then have King and Queen chase Usopp around onigashima for 20 chapters. Idk, its not like usopp did anything significant either.

It seems like Oda initially intended for Marco to do something significant, and then just changed his mind. I always thought he would have had Marco use awakening to revive Luffy or something along those lines, but nothing came of it.

He held off King and Queen for good amount of time keeping them occupied till someone else was free to take them. Remove Marco, there would be no Zoro yet as by the time he arrives down from rooftop Sanji would be made quick work by them, and same for the rest of the fodders fighting there and straw hats

Helped them with the virus greatly

Marco had his job in war.

But I will say that. Would be s lot better without him.

His plot with Perospero was good for nothing. So as Big Mom.
Without him we would have much more deaths and early on.
Sanji and Zoro fighting King and Queen would happen early too and more extended.

Agree that seems like Oda had other plans for him and changed his mind

At the end he was there to be used to hold someone strong for a time like with BM/King/Queen. Pehaps he will do something in the post-arc, he have many death flags and most likely will be a link to Weevil plot

If Zoro didnt go to the Roof and Sanji to BM.....then Marco wouldnt have been needed. He served barely any purpose bar being a neat hypetool.

He said it himself, that he was unsure of his role in the war. Then he came to realize that his role is that of a door opener for the new generation so the stars Sanji&Zoro, Kidd&Law, Luffy could take on Queen&King, Big Mom, Kaido.

A part of me believes Marco could have done more against Queen&King or even weakened Big Mom by a lot but he realized it's better if the new super talents get a chance to grow as he already reached his limit and it's not enough against Big Mom and even more so Akainu, Kaido and ultimately Blackbeard. He was wise and saw that the youngsters hadn't yet reached their ceilings.
