Character Discussion Marco Feels like one of the biggest Failure

In retrospect Marco is honestly starting to feel really underwhelming. I was just watching a clip from the Roger/WB pirates clash. Shanks, BB, Marco and Buggy are all kids. The other three all have all gone on to make massive names for themselves in the new world.
Marco as WB right hand is honestly way too weak. Even without CoC he should be a cut above regular YC. Strength aside he even lacks the charisma you that's associated with veteran legends of the new world.

Shanks trying to recruit him is like a scenario where you meet an former school/classmate who is now a CEO and they try to offer you some mid level management role out of pity 😆😂

Is he? Compared to most, Marco is basically the normal non special one. And still reached that high. Shanks is from a line of Holy Knight Celestial Dragons. Buggy started off as a gag, but his origins might end up being very important whether it has to do with Xebec or not.

Even among the commanders, Katakuri is the son of a Yonko while King is from a race with Special powers. Marco in comparison is a ordinary random orphan that ended up with a great Devil Fruit. He's by far the most peaceful of them yet still has a decent bounty, maybe might not have much of an edge in strength, but in terms of fame he is far more renowned than the typical Yonko commander.

And there are only a few people that can defeat Marco, if he joined Shanks' crew I think he would either be in a tie with Ben Beckman or be the third strongest

First Marco was never meant to be that important compared to Shanks Teach and Buggy

He was never meant to be at their level. Never.

Marco is just not that guy.

That’s his all point.

Marco is the best you can find for a normal YC1 but nothing more. He is the apex of Yonko commanders.

He couldn’t become a Yonko after WB death, he couldn’t replace Ace as the future or the crew and was defeated by Teach.

That is what makes him a great character.

Roger and Rocks crews are outliers.

Marco was never meant to be that guy, he wasnt given ACoC/CoC for that reason. But he is solid commander and only the very strongest commanders are above him like Zoro, Ben, King, Aokiji. Shiryu is unknown. People forget that Oda had him fight BM for the same duration as Kaido vs Scabbards. And his clash with BM was not full of haki but it was still one of the biggest clashes in terms of AoE. @grey matter over to you.

There's 0 chance he's stronger than Katakuri. Katakuri is a Conqueror with Top Tier CoO and awakening. Marco has 0 of those skills.

All Marco does is kick people and regen.
