He has the ability to fly around, he's in the top10 strongest there during the war, he can "heal" people..
He's the greatest and most versatiled plot device Oda has right now--by a freakin mile.
But honestly Oda will give him moments to shine.. It's a no brainer. I think he will be put into the fights against Kaido and Big Mom, wit some heals here and there

Okay so u guys are comparing end of war Crocodile to what Marco's doing who literally just arrived
So what did Crocodile do in Marineford ?
- Tried to attack Whitebeard but that was a lost cause , he wasn't even close to him
- Got attacked by Jozu and saved by Doffy
- Stopped Mihawk from chasing Luffy
- Stopped Ace from being executed
- Stopped Sakazuki from killing Luffy/Jinbei
He literally had no purpose or role , he made clutch/surprising moves all through the war with no actual purpose like why tf did he help Ace after wanting to kill Whitebeard when he arrived ?
same here , Marco so far :
- Threw the Big Mom Pirates off Wano and probably off the battle for the rest of the war now that Onigashima is in the sky
- Stalled Big Mom for quite a bit at least til Kaido finished his fight with the scabbards
- Probably gonna heal people in the live Floor with his flames
- Probably gonna escort Zoro to the top
- Probably gonna fight King
I would say thats good enough so far and the war is still going ... again when a character doesnt have a purpose in the war like the Wano ppl or the Alliance who all aim for Kaido , they usually bounce around from opponent to another and come in as clutch to do things the main characters can't do at that moment
Also someone mentioned Sabo , I would say both Sabo/Fujitora had purpose (like Sabo came from the weapons and Fuji came to assist Doffy) but after achieving these things the way they acted was in the exact manner as Croco/Marco where they were not useful at all and were taking side roles so the main characters get to shine
