If anything Jimbo is deserving of the captain position even.
He's by far the most experienced crew member and actually knoiws how the world works. He understands people and is always looking to balance things out in the bigger picture. Zoro is a strength meathead, can't be compared with wise people like Ray or Beckman

Usually we have a retarded captain and a grounded vice captain, but both Goofy and Zoro are retarded
A leadership role requires strength, wisdom and knowledge, only Jimbo fits the criteria

And Jimbo is definitely stronger than DR M3
