But aside from that, this is apparently a full on match up.

If they have no informations or intel I can clearly see Hidan cutting meruem once and drinking a bit of his blood

Meruem is smart sure, but Hidan is no slouch. Remember he out paced both shikamaru and Asuma via tactics
And he Went into actual prolonged combat with kakashi and shikamaru where very many of their tactics couldn't work on him.

Given that as far as I can tell Hidan is both faster and stronger than Meruem and Meruems intelligence will only take him so far since Hidan is proven very smart in combat even against smart fighters like Asuma and shikamaru, then all that's left is durability for Meruem

And thats where Hidan managing to damage A tailed beast comes in. Hidan and kakuzu didn't catch the two tails unaware. She was fully transformed when they fought and Hidan managed to draw blood from her.

Tailed beasts being able to body mountains with brute force means their bodies have ridiculous durability yet Hidan's physical ability damaged her

Idk what OBD was thinking in terms of speed for Hidan but hypersonic is simply too low for him. Hidan scales to Kakashi who’s been shown with multiple lightning speed feats, he should be MHS at the least.

Meruem is smarter than Shikamaru. Meruem brain is insane. Hidan is really less gifted than Meruem. But Hidan has hax to compensate. He only needs to surpise Meruem once and the deal is almost done.

Hidan managed to do that because him and Kazuku had a very simple yet very effective tactic : Kazuku blast everything without thinking about Hidan who is immortal and Hidan goes for the drop of blood. Alone against a tailed beast Hidan chances are not the same at all.

I'm saying without even the blood ritual, plain hidan with his scythe thing can just box down meruem. Just throwing hands. The only thing meruem would have going for him is possibly stamina. And that's when Hidan would need the blood ritual to end the fight quickly. Get it? It's just a choice whether hidan wants to end the fight sooner.

What's more likely is that it was just a regular fight and not something as weird as that. And given that kakuzu and hidan walked out of it basically unharmed, it would imply that it wasn't even hard

Like if two guys low diff someone while holding back (hidan held back because you aren't supposed to kill the jinchuriki meaning hidan chose not to kill her) then each of them alone would probably go extreme diff with her.

By extreme diff I mean 1v1, either of them could've won so that's why the akatsuki send two guys who can possibly beat a tailed beast, to ensure that it happens without any injury.

Remember Deidara was sent in alone for Gaara and indeed the fight was basically an extreme diff where either could've won. And that only happened because sasori was an asshole who didn't want to help Deidara. And then next time Deidara actually got help from Tobi, he once again low diffed the three tails.

That's what I mean. Each akatsuki has a chance of beating a tailed beast they are sent after and of course some have better chance than others like Kisame seemingly low diffed the four tails but I think that's the bench mark. You have to be able to win 1v1 and then they pair you with another guy who can also win and that ensures you will definitely win

Hs immortality isn't that simple. He definitely has some kind of regeneration since aauma burnt the guy's skin off and he was fine the next fight and off course he lost his head but threads on the outer part of his neck are enough to heal him? Also he stabs himself regularly and yet the wounds disappears in the next fight.

I think it's that thing where if his boy parts are next to each other, the can regenerate over time. But if you keep them separated they stay like that. He has regeneration but it's not instant and it's doesn't do weird shot like regrow entire limbs

Hidan and Kukuzu have a particuliar combo.

For exemple even if Kakashi is maybe stronger than Hidan, Kakuzu + Kakashi combos will be less effective against a Tail Beast than Kakuzu + Hidan. With Hidan Kakuzu can go crazy mode, full flames and wind and electricity and wide scale attacks while Hidan sneak attack or distract the beast. Obviously Hidan is strong, nobody every said Hidan was weak. The guy could fight Kakshi in CQC and Asuma. But alone against a tailed beast he can,t beat one for me.

Remember the whole Tailed beasts can crush mountains? If hidan gets swatted like a fly and cant resist. It mean he literally will be launched off th battlefield across the horizon. The what's his distraction for?

I agree Hidan has the lowest AP in the akatsuki but his hax is top tier. Any damage is poyentially lethal. Seemingly even on tied east.

And lets not forget, Hidan is the one who finished her off. And held back. Because he didn't use actual lethal attacks as not to kill her

Think of it like this, Hidan has to actually be capable physicallyto contest here even as a distraction or will be launched off the battlefield or Burnt to ashes (since two tails uses fire and Hidan wont return from being turned to ash). Hidan snt just a ragdoll getig bounced around.

Then Hidan has t tank kakuku's AoE attacks while still fighting since hes still doing the job of close quarters distraction.

Then Hidan as to get a good hit in himself that manages to draw blood.

Then he sets up his circle and starts damaging himself when he can no longer move to distract the two tails but the two tails has a healing factor too since all tailed beasts can regenerate and hdan as too keep doing this while not getting hit while kakuku is still launching AoE while th would ails takes damage and then regenerates and hidan has to take more damage to dmge the two tails then it regenerates until it's tired and returns to humans and hidan stabs himself non-lethally to knock her out without killing her.

This scenario if it's what happened requires physical stats from hidan that are greater than meruem

Hidan via scaling might be a thread, but he shown a poor durability against cutting and piercing attacks + his character is a big disadvantage by take too much risk, because his immortality. I thought i will never say this, but Meruem should win this. Without head, Hidan is useless.
