General & Others MHA had a good ending

Deku being a teacher and inspiring others to live their dreams is a good ending.

It shows that you legitimately don’t need a quirk to be a hero and make a difference in other people’s lives.

Which imo underscores the main theme of “anybody can be a hero”.

If he kept OFA and was the #1 hero, he’d legit be no different from Shoto or Bakugo, who were blessed with OP quirks. Deku helping others without a quirk shows what truly makes a hero a hero. It’s their personality, not the quirk.

I found it pretty bad

i mesure an ending by asking myself a simple thing: do i get the desire to go back and re-read the entire story with everything i know now?

MHA's final arcs and ending makes me never want to read and watch this story again.

everything ended in a year of high school, Shigaraki just became a body for All for One, so many character arcs unresolved, for as much screen time he gave the side characters, they did as little shit as most Nauro side characters forgotten along the way

supreme war that destroys the entire country, yet nobody that actually mattered died

the entire final war was easy as hell, just the heroes absolutely owning the villains left and right

It was character assassination and rushed plot at it's finest.

- No father
- No significant other
- No friends
- Faded into obscurity, literally peaked in high school

For 8 years.

However it could have all have been forgiven if he had some character development since chapter 1. He doesn't.

> chapter 1 deku does not have the willpower to try and become a pro hero without a free handout (OFA)

> final chapter deku still does not have the willpower to become a pro hero without a free handout (Mech suit)

"But he's found purpose in being a 'normal hero' by being a teacher and by inspiring others" I hear you say. No.

If he did, he rejects the suit outright and continues being a teacher. For 8 years, he didn't have the guts and willpower to go and try become a pro on his own merits. The moment a free handout comes, he becomes a pro within 2 minutes, signifying the fact that always and still did have the ambition of turning pro. He just doesn't have the willpower of a shonen mc without artificial powers. Even after 400 plus chapters.

That's honestly the most depressing thing.

Eh my only complaint the more I think about it is that nobody seems to look up to him. Like I would’ve enjoyed if that kid called him his favorite hero or something. Even powerless he could be an All Might kinda figure

But it isn’t that bad. People also pointed out that Ochako wears his mask, so they’re probably dating

I had no issue with Deku losing his powers. imo, the message is Deku is a real hero not because of quirks, but because he sacrificed it all to save humanity, He showed it isn't quirks that make a hero but the creed of a person's character. Him working in the school he loved, and teaching and being an inspiration to others is a good ending.

But, the prolonged BS with All For One was tedious af! Shiggy was a much better character on his own without All For One's BS. He was far more interesting. The battles also dragged super unnecessarily long. I got sick to death of it by the end tbh. For me, the Todoroki family drama was the best part of the series.
