in 956 , Blackbeard was seen wanting to take "the prize" , which is unknown until now .
before that he also mentioned the Navy , and called his crew to get onto the ship . so i think from the latter fact we can conclude that what he wanted to take is something far more worthy than Mera Mera , because Teach only sent Burgess to DR to get it
many ideas have surfaced on what he wanted to take . off the top of my head :
1. Thriller Bark ship
the idea of Teach taking TB i think is related to the fact that Moria came to Teach's island days ago . and with taking Thriller Bark , Teach also would revive some Rocks' former members - Captain John , and allegedly Silver Axe and Ouchoku who were standing beside him in this panel from TB :
the one on the right is John . the other two are Silver and Ouchoku

2. the 4 former Warlords - Mihawk , Weevil , Hancock , Buggy
i think this is unlikely , because they already have enough members to provide 1v1s for Strawhats .
besides Mihawk and Hancock aren't bad guys like Blackbeard Pirates are , and why would Teach take Buggy ?
3. Mera Mera .
this is also unlikely imo , as Teach only sent Burgess to get it in DR . so it looks like he didn't deem Mera2 as something worthy enough that required himself and his crew to get
4. Poneglyphs in WCI
this has good chance imo , since majority of Big Mom Pirates' military power left to Wano , and Teach is an opportunistic guy .
the Navy also was busy with their tasks post Reverie :
• chasing 4 former Warlords
• escorting 50 Kings & Queens who participated in Reverie back to their home countries ( like Garp with Fishman Island's entourage and possibly Hina with Alabasta's entorurage )
• using full resources to solve the problems from incident with Alabasta in Reverie
5. Garp
i think this is random
6. Kizaru's DF

7. Shanks
. this also has good chance , but i'm not sure if Oda introduced Teach's hunt of Shanks that early in the story
8. Pluton , the Navy was using it's resource to solve the problems in Alabasta , and since Teach mentioned Navy , it could be that "the prize" he wanted to take is in the same location , and that prize is Pluton .

among the ideas with good chances though ( 1 , 4 , 7 , 8 ) i got a hunch that he wanted to take 8. Pluton , which is said to be hidden in Alabasta .
• why Pluton ?
• Luffy and his Alliance is about to take down an Emperor crew - Beasts Pirates including Kaido and possibly another Emperor - Big Mom . which could very well end up boosting Luffy's current bounty of 1.5 Billion into around Teach's bounty of 2.247 Billion
so Teach also has to do something big , which will keep his bounty ahead of Luffy to keep Luffy looking like the underdog
taking Pluton ( which is one of 3 Ancient Weapons - the most powerful weapons in OP planet ) could very well boost Teach's bounty to keep his bounty above Luffy's
taking Pluton will probably push his bounty at least close into the range of 3 other Emperors' bounties ( 4 , 4.3 , 4.6 Billions ) , and then beating Shanks will push his bounty to around Roger's ( 5.5 Billions )
i don't think taking the Poneglyph in WCI or the Thriller Bark ship will be something as big as taking Pluton , and therefore won't push Teach's bounty as much as Pluton will
so Teach also has to do something big , which will keep his bounty ahead of Luffy to keep Luffy looking like the underdog

my reason is that , i don't think Red Hair Pirates alone can give somewhat of a fight to Blackbeard Pirates if they get Pluton .
Blackbeard Pirates alone , will probably be stronger than RHP by that time . taking on Blackbeard Pirates with Pluton , that looks too much , and i don't think Oda will let Red Hair Pirates fall like that .
Mihawk being in RHP's side by the time of the battle , i reckon will enable them to give some fights to Blackbeard Pirates even with Pluton .
this won't portray Mihawk in inferior light to Shanks , unlike the idea of Mihawk going down to Shiryuu .
we also saw Mihawk was being chased by the Navy , in the same chapter Teach wanted the prize ( 956 ) .
of course Mihawk wouldn't have many problems destroying those Battleships , which are presumably just filled with Marine Soldiers
but if the Navy sent SSG's weapon , i think Mihawk will get pushed to New World , where he could end up visiting Shanks' territory like he did hundreds of chapters ago
