General & Others Mihawk going with Shanks or Buggy

What would have preferred for mihawk?

1) How oda handled it aka have him partner up with crocodile being swayed by buggy in the process. It leading to him trying to help buggy become pirate king

2) What many people thought was gonna happen aka he joins up with shanks and his crew instead. Leading to luffy and zoro reuniting with them together

How would you have handled mihawk if you dislike both options?

Buggy works great especially if we get some more of the original Shichibukai joining and I called it a long time ago too so it's preferred for me for that alone if nothing else.

Shanks never made sense, that is not their relationship

Allying with Shanks would be nice for me but also an overkill and Oda wouldnt be able to justify their downfall if they were together.

Also Mihawk is not like Kuzan who accepted to become an underling.

Look, I like Shanks, a lot more than Buggy, but there are multiple reasons why Mihawk joining him would have been a disaster for the character.

Oda is managing it great and even generated some fun moments along with it, while also bringing back Buggy and a Crocodile, who is a fan favorite.
