General & Others Misinterpretation

#1
People seem to be misinterpreting how Luffy’s powers work with the new reveal of the devil fruit true name.

In my opinion his “Nika mode” or gear 5th is actually his Zoan form(I don’t believe there’s an awakened “form” except for forced awakening lol) Luffy is able to use G2/3/4 not through DF transformation but actually through manipulation of his rubber body, so they have nothing to do with the fruits being a Zoan fruit at all

Therefore complete mastery of the devil fruit will grant the user the ability to freely manipulate their rubber body, thus achieving all gears unlimitedly.

So his Nika form would actually just be his full Zoan? That's something I can somewhat agree with. I remember seeing somewhere that G4 could be his half/half form, since we actually have some elements of G5 seeping into it (the wavy hair and the cloud shawl around his body).

No gear 4th is not a transformation just a technique but it’s still his base form

I mean that's what you assume it is, but technique or not it's odd how much it resembles G5 in some aspects visually. Even if it's not his half/half form the fact it has similar visuals keys to it has to be intentional from Oda. Plus, we know zoans should be able to have a minimum of three forms, so it would match (if you consider G2 and G3 to be more basic extensions of his base form).

I feel the concept of awakening means to be able to reach a stage where he can finally manipulate the environment as he pleases, but it appears he is also capable to shift size as he pleases even without relying upon that.

No it’s a fact that Gear 4th isn’t a transformation; he is simply inflating his muscles, but it’s still base Luffy
