And yet we have people here saying "Oda is rushing Wano". There is a difference between "rushing" and "poor writing decisions" and this worstgen community really has a hard time differentiating the two.

Slow ass boring build-up (thats not rushed, but the opposite), wasted panels on fodder and extremely convenient plots (like motherly mode and Tama), and rushed/offscreened fights which obviously affects the characters involved (which is complete shit cuz this is supposed to be a "war")

Everything from the time Luffy fell off Onigashima to now has been rushed. Everything prior to chapter 1000/start of rooftop fight was too slow. Wano has had the worst pacing I've seen in any medium... except for the One Piece anime in certain spots.

Then takes you on a journey to that hype's conclusion, but it is a train ride, and you see a lot of big attractions on the way, so much that those attractions outshine the original hype that was created before. So, at the end, the hype that was created does not matter anymore, because you got to enjoy the ride.
