Character Discussion MVP of every arc w/o Luffy

#67
Zoro must be MVP of the majority of arcs since he's saving everybody indirectly by defeating the 2nd strongest in the enemy organisation.
while I agree and can make a supporting argument for this. Like how many don't give Zoro enough credit for EL. Without Zoro beating Kaku for the key to Robins cuffs she doesn't go free.

But....

It is more than just beating the 2nd strongest opponent. For example for me, BlackBeard at Jaya would take MVP, why his Impact his delivery, Memorability, Execution. so many other reasons.

Atleast i think MVPs are much more than physical strength and defeating Boss level characters.

I agree, But Jaya was an exceptional arc that's more about emotional values.

I gotta disagree with Jaya
Montblanc Cricket was the MVP with Luffy or without Luffy hhhhh
The dude truly was an exceptional character, and without him, kiss goodbye to Skypea arc!

Also, he two of the coolest moments in series:
1- With Usopp when Usopp called him a liar cause he was too scared to ride the knock up stream, his response was GOLD: I'm glad I was able to meet fools like you!

2- With Bellamy, bloodied, and getting sarcasm about pirate dreams, he responded: a person who doesn't have guts to dream, has no right to speak of pirates!

What a character!

I like Montblanc Cricket as well. His backstory and pursuit, Sacrifice, Will, and everything else about him.

However when I think about Jaya 3 Scenes come to mind.

The Bar Scene (Bellemy attacks)
Blackbeard (Peoples Dream's never end)
100 mil bounty Reveal (When luffy gets back the treasure)

Montblanc is great and all but personally I believe most other people will also agree that Blackbeard Jaya scene is in the running for most iconic moment in One Piece history.

Montblanc was vastly over shadowed by Blackbeard and his speech, his reveal, Impact, suspense, character and so much foreshadowing.

It's all personal taste though so there really isn't much to argue about. If Montblanc had a greater impact on you and you believe it to be this way, I can't convince and don't even want to otherwise.

For me, if Blackbeard was not built to be a final villain character, he wouldn’t be considered in that arc iconic

So, if Blackbeard did the SAME SPEECH but he was some regular ass character later on, was not built to be a warlord then Yonko...etc!

I personally believe most people wouldn’t care much about him... that’s why I put a lot of stocks into Montblanc Cricket, cause he literally became irrelevant character now, but in that arc, he holds a lot of weight, much more weight than any other character imo

I would actually be extensively disappointed if Blackbeard was portrayed as final villain because Oda is unveiledly giving a lot of emphasis to the Im sama and WG matters, just like the Void Century and eventual seeming connections that could transpire in the future.
