Break Week My life has no value now that Shanks is confirmed to be a swordsman

Brother, u can still enjoy Shanks and one piece man, he may not be the top 1 verse but Shanks got the plot relevance in this current arc and possibly next arc guarantee, atleast that's what makes him better than Mihawk. I blame Oda :josad:

@Dragon777 what are your views on Rocks being revealed and next thing we know that he is swordsman and His sword skill.

Yet for Aramaki nothing was even remotely suggested. Every focus went on his Devil fruit.
Nice. I have always had Mihawk > Shanks, so I have never had doubts Shanks or Rogerwere swordsmen.
I mean, Roger bloody called his son as his sword; anyone who though he wasn't a swordsman was coping big for the usual reasons.

As for Aramaki, I think it's because of his "inspiration". Gennai Aramaki, from whom Aramaki of OP takes bot name and appearance, was kind of a "secret (good) swordsman":

On the surface he seems to be a dimwitted bum that performs very poorly in his first fight of the film, basically jobbing.

However, during the film's climax, when the life of Aramaki's lover is at stake, it is finally revealed that he is indeed a truly excellent swordsman, it's just that he kept his skills a secret.
1-Set in the end of 19th century, where the Meiji Restoration just started, the hero, Aramaki Gennai (Karasawa Toshiaki) does not act so much like a "hero". He's a drunkard ronin (masterless samurai) who loves to lazy around in the house all day, and depend on his girlfriend for money. He doesn't care at all about anything or what happen in the world. Rumours has it that he has an unbelievably excellent skill of swordplay, but no one has ever seen him demonstrating it.
So I think Oda Is doing the same in OP style.

Also, there Is the things that if a top tier Is keeping a sword around, this thing should be very well used in his fighting style.

Just researched again about Admirals and their real life movie counterparts.

  • Akainu
    • Sugawara bunta
    • Personality and Apperance matches
    • Fighting style matches as well. They both are brutal.
  • Aokiji
    • Yusake Matsuda
    • Personality and Appearence matches
    • Fighting Style doesn't match. I repeat it does not.
  • Kizaru
    • Kunie Tanaka
    • Personality and Apperance matches
    • Fighting Style again doesn't not match at all.
  • Fujitora
    • Shintaro Katsu
    • Personality and Appeareance matches again.
    • Only in fujitora case it matches. Because Zaoitachi , Blind swordsman as there's not more ways to go about it.
  • Aramaki
    • Yusuke Matsuda
    • Personality and Appearence matches.
    • Fighting style does not matches at all.
ItIt'like clear cut indication that only their Personality and Appearence are Taken for inspiration. Not their fighting style.
