Wasn´t Obito throwing the fight so that Kakashi could remove his curse seal? It´s not like Obito wasn´t able to fight Kakashi, Gai, Bee and Naruto before that, nor is Taijutsu really Obito´s thing anyway.

Not really familiar with pre 8 gate Gai´s scaling tbh. Wasn´t Kisame fighting 7 gate Gai?
