I'm still wondering why Oda needed to spend 8 chapters on the Kuma/Bonney flashback if he was going to sideline her this hard in Elbaf. Like, he clearly views her as irrelevant at this point so why did we need to spend 3 chapters on learning who her mom was and her relationship with Kuma?
It only makes sense if she was next nakama, but now it just feels like a huge waste of time.

oda had a simple idea,....then he started reading theories around internet and started adding real life lores into his story...only issue is he sucks at handling plot and story telling so they just suck now...and everything is like trivia now..did you know this character refers to this thing, this place refers to this lore from xyz

OP is quite shit but the flashbacks usually hit hard and make you sympathize and understand the character even if they come late or are dragged out
In Naruto the flashback made the character's goal seem even more pathetic or was the first step to talk no jutsu nonsense.
Would have been better if we didn't know Obiturd wanted to destroy the world for his 12 year old crush, for example.
No Naruto flashback will top Law or Robin's flashback.
Law would probably understand Doffy's point of view and try to redeem him if Kishimoto wrote this.
Even if Op is shit but Naruto is even worse than garbage. I still can't get over all that Sasuke nonsense or the talk no jutsu.
