I didn't know what rust was about at the start of the game. I figured it's probably nothing good but didn't make the connection that only machines rust and they lose power because of it. Even if I had known that n1, I would have still decided to commute because I was already widely town read by then and thought there was a good chance someone might take a shot at me.

Well if you can make yourself immune to it then you can very well still be scum, they give you the real one knowing you can be immune and then we waste resources on Hime who wasn't in danger in the first place, painting you in a good light thus cementing your town cred
