I'm excited for the new batman adult animated series to come out

I heard that the upcoming Batman and newer episodes of Young Justice has darker themes than most cartoons.

also Solar Opposites on Hulu is pretty good.

Literally everyone who watched it before I did said the first two episodes specifically are NOTHING like the rest of the season, and the show truly goes to some fascinating places (both ideologically AND cinematically) throughout the series. As someone who truly had the same experience you did, I can safely say that you gotta stick with it past those first two to really experience the show.

Despite not being anything "new", the catch is HOW these themes are worked during the show. They are treated in such a "mundane" approach, that sometimes they can hit really close.
There was a particular plot of the show that absolutely destroyed me due to irl similarities. Was not easy, but the show was just so freaking good, that I had to carry on.
Totally worth it.

No need; like Doggo, it hit me pretty hard for a variety of personal reasons, but it is SO worth the emotional turmoil for the incredible writing, the fully realized characters, and the absolutely incredible amount of animal puns
