General & Others Oda’s failure : execution

#1
I think oda biggest problem is that he can’t execute The hype he built up. Ironically oda biggest advantage is he knows how to build hype very well and has a lot of interesting concepts BUT when he starts executing them everything gradually start going down to the toilet thus FAKE hype and dragging and shit shows

some examples:
- Yonko alliance
-new world as a whole; show me don’t tell me !
- yonko territory
- yonko is in general...look at big meme (it hurts to say it but whatever)& laido
- wano arc as a whole
- numbers
- colosseum in dressrosa
- Luffy having many crew members

The problem is not the execution, not entirely at least, but more about your expectations.

I've seen too many people talking about the raid failing, people dying left and right, yonko crushing everybody.

This is not happening, this is One Piece, not Kingdom.
Main characters win, nobody dies and despite the Yonko being portrayed as monster they will eventually lose no matter how much some people love them.

Main problem most of the times not about execution, it is about not not understanding character traits. For example, Oda portrays some X character is stronger than all other characters but most of the people assume X will solo the verse, X must have stats higher than any other in the verse. Just because X is very strong there should be no counter especially from a character way weaker than X. And lastly you think X doesn't have character flaws.

I mean, actually showing the characters doing stuff that isn’t stupidly obvious or braindead would really help.

Big Meme MUHH intel network can’t figure out where tf Jinbe is, no one has a single fucking clue that Capone has been plotting against her for months. Somehow no one but Bobbin realises that Sanji has escaped, despite Sanji having been standing outside Pudding’s SENTIENT TALKING DOOR only seconds ago, no one thinks to warn Pudding not to mouth off at Reiju while he might be in earshot. Jesus Christ, what in the fuck are these info gatherers doing? Jacking each other off in the corner no doubt.

Want to write a villain as the king of 1v1, the strongest creature on land, sea and sky? Maybe show him actually winning a fight against a proper contender without A) bitching out B) cheap shotting or generally getting his teeth kicked in might help. He’s getting knocked around by fucking base Luffy now, god damn that’s embarrassing :suresure::suresure::suresure:

The weekly publication seems to make this thing that every chapter need to have a huge hype for something or else the readers, expecially the ones that started to read in weekly in the last years, freak out and start to complaim that Oda is senile, that they want more hype and shit like that.

Pehaps with more and more people starting to read and talk about OP in the internet the community build to much headcanon for anything and this make the headcanons guys lose It every week that the things they spend the day talking about in the internet ia not happening.

It's also just "standard" for Oda. It's not new or different, this is what he does. Most people expected Luffy to save Ace, until he didn't. That was a huge deal when it happened.

I don't fault Oda for this because he's set the precedent that his MCs always win, and that's fine. The story is way too big/long to throw curveballs at this point and dramatically shift the goals of the story.

OP has always been comfort food for me in this way. I know what to expect for the most part in an arc, it's just exciting to see how it plays out or how the mysteries get resolved.

Did you read my original post or are you jumping at me to defend oda ? I want counter arguments not this spam.

Oda apologists and the expectations card again ?

Oda build hype he must deliver it, simple as it gets. Getting old with the fake hype nonsense that turns into a dragged shit show.
You're just salty that Big Mom and Smoothie are not doing what you expected them to do.
He hyped up some stuff and delivered. Luffy training his CoA and penetration, and it's finally working. Zoro being stronger with Enma training.
Law stated that nobody moved and trained because they were satisfied with the situation and their level. Supernovas broke yhe wheel. Deal with it.

You are mistaking MC with villains, villains are meant to lose.

The guy literally provide you examples of EXECUTION issues and yet you completely neglect it and put in your own word of "expectation"? LMFAO! It has NOTHING to do with "expectation". When you hype Kaido up so much having him fall off the sky, easily beating the supernovas, being "the strongest creature on land, sea and sky" , then one shotting Luffy but then only have Luffy train for a week and all of a sudden he is able to keep up with HYBRID Kaido while Luffy is in BASE, that has NOTHING to do with expectation. That is 100% execution. Don't hype Kaido up so much if all it takes is one week of training to keep up with Kaido's strongest form.

It is exactly what I said lol. The guys are thinking Big Mom will win lmao, it's not happening.
They literally think the villains should win which would never happen unless you are a fucking moron to believe Luffy will die lol
Anyway, Luffy wins and you salty guys stays salty
