Of course he wasn't excited about his clash with Zoro. Kaido was bested and scarred by Zoro. Kaido was pissed off afterwards. That was when Zoro was in poor condition and after he blocked and tanked Hakai, a much stronger attack then the one can produce alone. With Luffy, there wasn't any concern about being scarred. He could have fun and beat Luffy. No, Yamato is not stronger.
With the new information that the translation was off the question is now whether Paradise totauka is a stronger attack then paradise waterfall. I would assume it is because it was used one against Kaido, who has a near invincible body, while the other was used against a giant pig by a weaken Oden.
Regardless of how we look at it, it's still good news for Zoro because it tells us one of two things. Either CoC is needed to scar Kaido which further confirms Zoro used CoC when he scarred Kaido. Or CoC is not needed to scar Kaido and it can be also done by using large amounts of overflowing haki so Zoro's flying dragon blaze has the power scar Kaido and that's why Big Mom and Kaido were both concerned about that attack.
If Zoro flying dragon blades can scar him that means Zoro other high end attacks might have the potential of scar Kaido too. Zoro would be able to not just match but even surpassed the power of adv CoC attacks without needing to use adv CoC. That makes sense because different attacks uses different amounts of power. It's like how hakai was a stronger attack than Kaido's Thunder Bagua.
Before this information came out I believed to scar Kaido either large amounts of overwhelming haki/ryu or less amounts of haki/ryu with adv CoC is needed. To kill Kaido large amounts of overwhelming haki/ryu must be combined with adv CoC. That last part is still probably true.
As you can see this is a win for Zoro. Zoro has CoC and his battle with King will be used to learn to adv CoC freely.
