R:I don't understand very well how Cross Guild operates. It's referred to as operating like a company and business, but are they really profitable? If they give money to any civilians who take the heads of Marine soldiers, I feel like they'd go bankrupt really quickly. - P.N. Yuutan

O: Cross Guild's very existance is a big problem for the Marines. The fear of being attacked by anyone anywhere has tanked their morale quite a lot. This slows down Marine operations, making it easier for the "dark companies" of the underworld to operate, meaning they make more money. Cross Guild serves as a public front, with the dark companies paying for the bounty sums. Furthermore, there's a dark side of this world that gambles on "which Marine will be killed?", which results in even more money from society contributing to this fund. So in reality, they're actually making quite a lot of profit.

In the above SBS Oda has confirmed that cross guild has no actual ideology. It’s a money making business. Cross Guild doesn’t hate the marines or want to cause wanton chaos. No, it just wants to help the underworld backers of cross guild to make money. That’s it.

I’m bringing this up because people seem to think Mihawk cares about this. They think because mihawk was a “marine hunter” and cross guild “hunts marines” then that means the ideology of Cross guild is “anti-marines”… No… There is no ideology. Mihawk WAS a marine hunter. He no longer is. Oda even said in another SBS that Mihawk got over whatever issues he had with the Marines.

cross guild is just a money making business. That’s it. But of course the buggy subordinates who think buggy is in charge don’t know this so they actually think Cross guild exists to make Buggy pirate king… And Buggy’s gag will probably result in Cross guild somehow getting involved with the one piece… but remember that this is besides the point… Mihawk and crocodile don’t work for Buggy and Mihawk and Crocodile don’t give a fuck about fighting the Marines or other pirates, crocodile wants to make money, mihawk wants to chill… That’s all Cross guild is

Crocodile and Mihawk, do in fact want to create a new military state, "Utopia". The WG would be the greatest enemy of this state, but if the WG is busy worrying about uprisings and random attacks on the Marines from people in poverty, they will be too busy to deal with utopia.

And for whatever reason, Mihawk is interested in the operation utopia as well.

They still can. Buggy may have tried to take back some control, but in the end buggy only looks like the leader because Mihawk and croc let him be.

operation Utopia was always Croco's goal. But it was originally to be created through Baroque work, now he believes CG will create it. Mihawk also is interested in operation utopia, based on what he said to Crocodile in the panel.

They managed to wage war on the WG, Marines and whole Pirate World including finding the One Piece and writing history as the Pirate King Crew yet they have been living life with Shakky and Ripley for 25 years, undisturbed by anyone.

Either they struck deals with Marines/WG that granted them peace in exchange for no more pirating or they made a threat, took out battalions and then simply called it a truce. Either way Mihawk needs to learn so he can just chill without looking over his shoulder.

I've always thought Rayleigh status is a borderline plot hole. Garps statement never worked for me, because Rayleigh knows all the void century secrets. Garp may not care about that, but the Gorosei sure would. I guess Gaban actually lives in a country they wouldn't be able to track him in though
