Powers & Abilities Oda has three options

With how strong luffy currently is, it should be obvious that luffy is in the top 5 and even if you don’t have luffy in the top 5, it should be obvious that no one can beat luffy without an high diff fight or above since kaido who is in the top 3 can’t beat luffy without anything lower that high diff( I am of the opinion that luffy actually win)
Remember luffy only used one named move on kaido compared to when his other gears were introduced so that means we have not seen the full potential of g5 compared to g2 and g4 were we knew it’s limit.
So oda can go forward with 3 options
1. Make g5 weaker than what most people imagined
2. Stop making luffy the underdog and in his next fight he would fight his opponent as an equal ( I mean serious opponent and not people like hody or ceaser)
3. We are near eos so luffy’s next opponents would be so strong that they would mid diff kaido( and luffy would be an underdog like always)

First one is impossible to happen. Oda can't control this and this would be exactly the third option.

Second option should be Oda's way but he doesn't work like that. Luffy will be forever underdog and one-shotted in order to hype villains and struggle against weaker people opponents.

Third option is what Oda will choose.

Luffy will only have one enemy stronger than Kaido and that will be Imu. Teach won't be that strong, but as he will nullify God Nika's powers the fight will be difficult for Luffy. These are Luffy's last two enemies, there won't be any others and yes, Luffy has already bested Roger with G5.

That's how it would make sense for how relevant he is in the story and for what he did

Imu should be > Luffy. Bb will become stronger and reach Luffy's level and Akainu should push him to extreme diff
Another possibility: Luffy won't use bajrang gun or his opponent won't stand there and clash with it like Kaido
Also other opponents won't fight many rounds/opponents while lifting an island

Option two most likely, the manga's almost over, it's asinine to think Luffy will remain the underdog in the last 100/150 chapters

Option three is also possible, though Luffy's future opponents don't necessarily need to mid diff Kaido, they don't even need to be necessarily stronger than him, just have a counter to Luffy or something.

Blackbeard vs Luffy will be like Crocodile vs Luffy where despite Luffy being the underdog, he won’t win from getting stronger but by fighting smarter to counter Blackbeards abilities.

And then he’ll get his final ultimate power up against imu.

My favorite is no.2, but i think no.3 will happen especially when its about Imu. No.1 is Oda's habit, which i hope he stops.

1 seems utterly impossible to me just because Oda wouldn't want to nerf his MC. 2 and 3 seem like the most likely and it can go either way I think. However no longer making Luffy the underdog would likely remove some tension from fights, so my guess is he'll probably go with option 3 and just create characters that somehow get an edge over him anyway (think Akainu that could burn the hell out of him so his G5 immunity would not work as well, or Blackbread's Kurozu which would be able to negate the advantages he gets from his DF).
