Chapter Discussion Oda is a Special Man

#1
When does character design display overtake common sense, OP has the one of the most diverse and biggest character design range but I cannot understand why this was done? We had a recent chapter where sheer inconsistencies led to fan theories of SHPs being in a dream etc.

I maybe wrong here but there seems to be the shaft/handle of an axe/weapon on Lokis back in the double spread. If somebody is strong enough to chain a person then they should also have no issue to remove their weapon too from them.

Hey, I am gonna lock up this guy and I will give him his weapon too incase he escapes and wants to kill some people.

Maybe it's like Mjolnir, only the chosen one can lift it :kobeha:
LOL
I can remember two/three instances where the weapons were stored away from the imprisoned person, Zoros intro, Shiryu in ID and Zoro in FMI. I think even Kawamatsu had has blade taken away from him, dont remember where the 3 Daimyos got those swords from. Point being that Oda has cared for these sort of things previously and now we have a character so strong whose roar can be heard from afar, the military might of the strongest nation is required to subdue him and then the guy also has his weapon on his back.

It's like Oden being locked up with his swords.

Kaido never fighting him again and letting go free to fight him too.

Lol yeah, but at least we knew that Oden had given up and Kaido had hostages so Oden was fucked. Lokis condition is different
Yeah that's true. There's a lot of weird stuff going on this arc, the writing feels very unusual, very off and I wanna believe it's narratively deliberate somehow but it's probably not sadly.

I think Elbaf are just not very smart too, a warrior race focused on war, fights and glory. Loki might be the smartest one or Saul or something. I would say the two Elder giants tbf but idk.

Loki will make them regret it anyway, he doesn't seem bothered about being chained up as he should be, so either he knows he can break free easily or someone will let him go like Luffy ofc.

I mean it's One Piece.

If you look for logical and consistent writing, you're most certainly wrong here.

It's a manga aimed at kids/teens and Oda never even once intended to change it.

Therefore other things (mostly "cool looking hype panels") are a much higher priority for him in comparison.

Bro how about we wait to find out. Kaido gives people their swords back. He wanted to face Kaido again. This could just be mjolnir

What has that gotta do with what I said? I'm referring to all the mistakes in the previous chapters, the shitty Road chapters. But yes I bleieve its Mjolnir too. I'm calm too, what a weird reply/comment.

What?

You're the one who needs to chill here too, seriously.

So let's imagine how Loki was restrained, let's say he had his weapon on his back or whatever and every single giant bound him with chains and subdued him, now he's completely pushed back against this rock or whatever he's strapped to. Now you want those giants to go near him take off his weapon? At this point they're probably thinking he can't move anyway so what's the problem, on top of that if he's got insane physical strength, they might be too scared. Dude defo has conqueror's haki

It could be a mistake, or there is an explanation. We can only wait and see.
