Character Discussion Oda only cares about Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Nami and vaguely Robin among the strawhats; and I don't see the problem with that

One Piece is at his 1.111 chapters; it started in 1997 so 27 years ago. It was supposed to be 5 years long.
Pretty sure he showed most of what he expected to show about the strawhats; except for stuff like Usopp/Elbaf - Robin/Raftel - Nami/Ancestors

So now he wants to have so good times writing his manga; he takes care of the characters he likes. Namely; Shanks ( his projection in the manga ), Luffy, Law, Sanji, Nami (for his wife), Chopper (for the goodies) and Zoro (for the fans).

Of course in an ideal world; we would have Yamato, Momosuke, Carrot, Vivi and some more as Nakamas. But Oda has so much more to give.
So.... I respect that.

He gives a fuck, it's just that it's not exclusively good things only (like he did for Zoro Nami), but also the bad things (like his insistence on ecchi trope in 2024).

He doesn’t give a shit about any of the Straw Hats other than Luffy. They don’t interact in meaningful content rich panels. They don’t talk about their ultimate goals like All Blue for example. No conversations on Ace, Dragon, Nika, nothing. No training with samurai’s for Zoro or lore discoveries from Nico Robin in Wano. No fight for Sanji on WCI. There’s no real character development or focus on them post time skip. Just more and more meme panels about Brook never dying, Sanji being a simp, and Luffy wanting meat. Oda has created so many side characters that’s he’s kind of lost the core of One Piece in a way.

There are thousands of panels that are just repetitive info or useless exposition. Heck, even if we remove a lot panels, One Piece will still read the same. Those panels could be used for the nakama to explore & expand themselves.

Fishman Island & Dressrosa is prime example.

I agree when it comes to dreams of the straw hats. Except for the emphasis on Luffy dream, he doesn't care anymore about the other Straw Hats dreams, maybe because they didn't make that much sense with the story to beggin with. Sanji is basically never see talking about All Blue or new ingredients.The dream stills exist; but Oda waste no space mentionning it. Same with Nami or Chopper.

It's the bigger version of the same problem we had in Bleach.
Bleach started with Ichigo, Chad, Uryuu, Orihime teaming up. At the end we only really had Ichigo. Chad being totally put in the background when characters like Byakuya, Renji or Hitsugaya got tons of panel time !
