-> He sets his eyes on conquering the grandline for whatever reasons, still unknown to us.
When he said that and what is conquering if he doesn't own any territory? Just tourism at island is not conquering.

-> He's lustful, he's greedy, he's selfish, but also very selfless in certain things
What is he selfless about?

He has layers of personality, motives, and changes in goals.
I may agree about motives and goals changing but his personality is the same as start just like Luffy

Roger 100% cared about wealth and power. Pirates were outlaws they worked on the basis on not being restricted by authority aka freedom, we're specifically talking about the golden age carribean pirates.

Well yes, he's a pirate... or do you think Xebec is some great guy too just cause he cares about his personal family, while stabbing other kids with swords??
Roger doesn't care about wealth and power at all. Never showed any interest on it. Roger pirates are kinda of poor. Crocus is living inside a whale so he doesn't have to pay rent. Rayleigh is working at the age of 70. Gaban banged a giant that lives for centuries so he is sure his child will have something to support him because he himself has nothing to left to him. And Roger never cared about being the strongest or any shit like that, I should've said fame as well.

And yea Xebec is a great guy, even greater pirates. He is rough, brute and violent but still a great guy.

Buggy, shanks, goofy, zoro, mohawk etc
No I remembered he was asked in an SBS which ch was his favorite and he replied Buggy. The other you motioned are what western fans say is his favorite in their debates to says " that's why their favorite character lost because the other one is Oda's favorite that's why he was drawn like that or did that" etc
