But Oda retconned this because he doesn't like the idea of Roger one shotting DFless Young Kaido.

Instead he wants Roger to one shots Dragon Form Kaido because they will make cooler him.

Kaido was the main villain of the Vs Yonko Saga. Imu is a main villain of the final saga.

Showing Imu one shotting Kaido will basically show the rising of the stakes.
