Controversial Oda should have made g4 unlimited in Wano

g2 and g3 were not unlimited in their introduction but post time skip they became unlimited, so oda should have made g4 unlimited on the rooftop instead of making fluffy gas out that would have been perfect since he planned on introducing g5, unless oda never planned for g5.

not really,he gains massive pu in firepower. He just needs to use it wisely. While makes him run out of haki,gear 5 makes him unable to fight. Both have very dangerous side effects. He should go gear4 to test how strong someone is and then switch to gear 5 if necessary. Just like he did with kizaru.

Yeah Gear 4 should be unlimited. Considering the caliber of Luffys future opponents Hear 4 isn’t busted.

I agree partially but I don't think that's the main issue rn. At the introduction of Gear4 and all other gears Oda created an arbitrary time limit to nerf Luffy whenever the plot demands, it's a good system to ensure that he still controls the flow of fights and never writes a one sided battle. I was fine with it in the arcs prior to Egghead because Luffy was strategic about the way he used his gears (e.g. Katakuri fight, Kaido fight, pre ts Lucci fight etc) but right now it feels like Oda is doing too much to make the gorosei look intimidating for all the wrong reasons. I hate that he's giving Luffy the Big Mom treatment and not even letting him actually stop and try to fight. It's my biggest complaint about Egghead, the way he's avoiding a full battle because he doesn't wanna commit to the gorosei >= yonko scaling but also trying to make them seem like a real threat at the same time.

Current g4 Luffy with ryuo hits hard enough to oneshot most yc3 and below, you could come with an army of high vets he would finish them with one hit each , if it becomes unlimited and his haki gets stronger he will be admiral level with g4

You don't understand gears. None of them are unlimited. Post skip Luffy just get a better stamina and technique to not get tired too soon from G2 and G3. But G4 spends a huge amount of haki to maintain its form. Him lasting 30 minutes for the first activation is already too much. And G5 spends his DF.

current luffy's gear 4 is not comparable to dressrosa , his haki and strength are far greater, current unlimited g4 Luffy is easily yc1 level and with ryuo only toptiers would beat him one on one.
He is still nowhere near fruitless aokiji and old garp though, he really needs to get stronger , gear4 without advcoc should be mid toptier not yc1+

Gear 2/3 weren't even lasting 10 minutes pre timeskip, current g4 lasts 30 minutes and he can use three king Kong guns or more in that span, it was praised by kizaru , by the end of the next arc he will be fighting top tiers without g5 and winning

Not everyone on the WG's side is stronger than wano hybrid kaido and Luffy is getting stronger by the day, current adv haki gear 4 Luffy oneshots almost any non toptier with over kong gun, and one hit from that attack would send non zoan toptiers to the hospital
