Oda did spoil Luffy being Joyboy.
Yeah... he kinda did LOL specially after reading the last few chapters...
I have to say though... I find many people hell bent on going against the idea/theme of destiny/fate in this series.
But I have to say that if they are totally against it.. and cannot accept it... they better be prepared for a real disappointment.
Simply because Oda HAS BEEN selling this destiny/fate idea ever since Luffy's execution in Logue Town! Where as Barto said, he MIRACULOUSLY was saved!
We then have people like "Smoker/Kizaru/Akainu" and so many others who managed to corner Luffy into checkmate... but then SOMEHOW... Luffy is saved... and what's more... those same character say those words "it's like Heaven is trying to help him out"
Then, we have Blackbeard crew... and one of his crewmembers constantly talking about "fate"
We have Rayleigh who stated to SHs that "perhaps EVERYTHING happens for a reason"
We have SOOO MANY other stuff
So... you guys have to start to ACCEPT this reality and that Oda does involve destiny/fate into the story.
It's been an old concept he had. NOT a new one!
And it's exactly like before Imu-sama appeared. And I was constantly talking about the possibility of a hidden king for Marijoa Kingdom. Because I have NEVER known any establishment or organization that EVER existed without having some figure to hold most of its power.
I couldn't accept the fact that Gorosei are ruling with equal partnership. There had to be someone who stands at the top. NO MATTER WHAT... that's how the world works... it will never change! So, it was either one of those 5 gorosei holds more reign and power than the rest... OR a true king for Marijoa Kingdom. I got lots of backlash... with stupid people calling me "that's Kaguya... Oda will never do that...Oda has to foreshadow him from ages ago before doing that". And as Joker says "Here we go!" LOL
Now... I'm not against Destiney shit because I have seen it from miles away...
HOWEVER, I can see why people would complain about it... because it would take away from Luffy's and co achievements. because he was always destined. OR, the more deep meaningful argument that I really got behind is that "Luffy wants to be the most free person" but then he was NEVER free because he was a pawn to his own destiny!
Which is why I can see the view and see why many would be disappointment.. However, I think Oda COULD turn this into a grandiose cheers by the fans if he went the Destiny route... but from a different way...
Meaning... let's take Sengoku's words for a minute: " People of the D. always has checkered life"
Then... let's also recognize the fact that the ORIGINAL Joyboy FAILED against WG/Imu and co
Let's also recognize the fact that Imu-sama for some shocking reasons... he targeted "Luffy/Blackbeard/Sirahoshi/Vivi" as if he was some Seer or some AL Mighty God, knowing of EVERYTHING that's going around... which is part of why Joyboy somewhat failed 800 Years ago.
Also, the fact that it seems they have the ability to cleanse the world, and erase people/whole country from HISTORY itself
The point I'm trying to make is... WHAT IF.. Oda wants to go the Destiny route... which is one of the D. will show up, leading a new army against WG.... have a lot of obstacle.... but the ironic thing is that... EVERYTIME they try to do that... and overthrow the WG... they ARE DESTINED TO FAIL.
So, basically, what Oda goes for is that Luffy's destiny is not simply him WINNING.. Rather, his destiny is like previous D. who came before him... they are destined to FAIL.
And that's what will make it a GREAT favorited by all fans I think. Where, Luffy battles his own destiny and he finds a way to break the curse/destiny.
And what is special about this once in a lifetime chance is that in this year.... EVERY significant player will be there... and participate... Joyboy(Luffy), Poseidon.. Pluton... Uranos... One Piece itself.... and so many other different factors... where previous generations all helped and had a hand in preparing this current generation into having this slight chance of fighting destiny. People like Roger/Oden and maybe even Xebec had some role in making Roger follow the clues... etc.
I think that would be outstanding if done!
