General & Others Oda thinks that Luffy getting defeating 10 times is tension !

Enel didn't one shotted Sanji and Zoro but will one-shot Luffy? If Luffy isn't made of rubber and Enel isn't a Logia Luffy still winning. Can't take away Luffy DF without taking Enel Logia too.

He's only really been defeated twice this arc, by who is by far the most powerful opponent he's ever faced so far, so i don't see why that's such a problem? I don't count the rag-naraku attack as a defeat since he got up like a minute later.
That's the same number of defeats he had against Crocodile and that didn't ruin any tension.

All other criticisms of the arc still apply of course, but i don't see how Luffy getting defeated again is so bad. Hell, it's one of the more consistent parts about the arc when you consider Kaido one shotted him a few weeks ago.

He got knocked out 4 times he was defeat 4 times. 3 by Kaido and 1 by Apoo.
Actually Queen also defeated him right? At Udon with those virus.

Not really. Maybe you're just confused? Luffy getting defeated is just a measure of how difficult things are gonna be for him.

All Oda is doing here is making it clear that Luffy has a mountain to climb when it comes to defeating Kaido. He's establishing that this isn't like any opponent Luffy's come across so far.

The real stakes of the arc haven't even started yet.
