If Oden lived i think him Mihawk and Shanks would have fought alot. As for whom would claim the title if that happened. Its between Mihawk and Oden.
Until i see the full power of Mihawk. I would chose the "Full Potential of Oden with black blades". but right now as of Oden state before his death its 100% Mihawk.

Oden :
There's no feat or hype from Mihawk making him > Oden
Oden scales up to Yonko and Roger
Mihawk is below sickbeard
Oden :
- Sits with Great Pirates
- Invincible freak of nature
- Panelled with WB and Roger as ASL of old times.
- Paralled with Roger and Luffy as PK trio with VOaT + CoC
- WSS
- Rivaled Young Shanks
- Sits with dues like buggy, moriah...

Diamond is like the toughest substance to cut doesn’t really matter that Jozu is only a commander. If the perceived wss didn’t demolish him w that one slash then everyone else would probably do worse in his shoes. I pick Mihawk because Zoro wants to surpass him and be the greatest swordsman ever, Mihawk has also accomplished the black blade feat. Plus Mihawk’s rival is a character that has like some of the greatest portrayal in the story and he’s the one perceived as the best swordsman instead of Shanks.
Mihawk matched with Commander Vista and asked for postponement which proves that Mihawk couldn't get away from him unless Vista allows him.
Commander Marco also saw him as a small threat and send Commander Vista alone to deal Mihawk.
Commander Oden would be too much.
- Mihawk admitted he was inferior to Old WB he just didn't know how much power difference there was.
- WB told Ace that he is not close to Oden and if Oden couldn't defeat Kaido, Kaido is a problem that they can't even attack Wano due to casualties.
- Marco on the otherhand sends Vista to deal with Mihawk. WB allows Jozu to deal with Mihawk.
- Oden is in top 5 of Kaido's list while Kaido says Shichibukai are weak. He also adds Shanks to his list but not Mihawk even though he probably knows the so called duel between Shanks and Mihawk.
- Rayleigh and Scopper wanted to attack Oden together while Marco sends Vista alone to deal Mihawk and Jozu alone is enough to deal Mihawk.
- Roger wanted to fight Oden by stopping Rayleigh and Gaban. Roger sees Oden as a worthy opponent that deserves to be get hit by his Advance CoC at the beginning without holding back.
- Wano Samurai was hyped as a power that could scare Lakainu and Marines and Oden was the strongest Samurai while Mihawk accepts to become an underling for world government Shichibukai and was forced to leave his paradise half grandline island once he loses his Shichibukai status while same Marines can't go to Wano because of the Samurai strength.
