Chapter 962 has introduced one of the most interesting plot devices in Wano so far in the form of Oden's logbook. One interesting thing with this is that this Logbook is basically the most accurate source of information about Oden. The previous two chapters have gone out of their way to show us that theres A LOT of misinformation around Oden to the point that the Narrator himself reports the misinformation such as when the narraator box says Oden is responsible for the mountain god incident. This misinformation goes even further to the point that even someo of Oden's friends themselves might actually not know things about him since as we saw Yasu isn't 100% certain about whether Oden robbed him or not so even people like Kin'emon might actually not know things about Oden even though they are the ones who relayed what they did know to the STrawhats. This is further exacerbated by us knowing that Oden isn't very good at explaining his line of reasoning for his actions such as with eating food on a corpse and seemingly humiliating the deceased's family.

Basically what i'm getting at is that this first person view presented by this logbook is gonna be the most definitive source of information aboout Oden's exploits. And said exploits are VERY VERY VERY important to learn about ACCURATELY because they literally include secrets of the void century from the Kozuki clan history and literally a trip to LAUGH TALE itself to find the One Piece.

Of course i believe that a such a powerful plot device will probably be left out for the very end of the arc, like in the literal epilogue after all the dust settles and its INFO DUMP TIME. All thats left for now is finfing out where it is and who has it.

Maybe the flashback will reveal most of the information that logbook contains so it wont be given too much importance unless an important detail from past isnt shown in flashback and will be revealed in logbook instead.
As to who might be in possession of it, I guess either Kaido or Orochi or perhaps Kyoshiro.

It would be ridiculous if Oda showed very big details about the King of pirates voyage in this flashback... at best I suspect he will show Oden getting recruited into the Roger pirates and it will cut from there since we already saw the end of the voyage in 960...

The details of the actual Last voyage and Raftel and the one piece can't be shown to the readers before Luffy learns them... Like how they never showed raizo in Zou, not when in a flashback, until Luffy and company went into the whale tree and the exposition about the road poneglyphs began...

If that book exists, that is like one of the most important plot devices in this arc

I also believe Oden's logbook is a big plot point and serves a big role in this arc. Oden most likely recorded everything he's seen in his travels, and given he was part of Gol Roger's crew, it's most likely that he penned the journey to Raftel, and I strongly suspect this is what Kaido is looking for, these 20 years.

Oden's logbook is - in other words - the map to Raftel.

The reason Kaido invaded Wano was for him to find a sure-fire way to get to Raftel - a shortcut - so to speak... one option is most likely to force Oden to become his own personal translator - and that was probably Kaido's original plan, but it never worked - but given that Oden is dead and no-one knew that Momo was still alive for 20 years, Kaido still remained in Wano and never set sail. Why is that??

I believe it's because Kaido somehow, had information that Oden had this logbook... and if Kaido had this item in his possession, he will be miles ahead of the competition, and actually get to Raftel.... This is basically Baratie arc, where Don Krieg wanted Zeff's log in order to safely traverse the grand line.

I'm also willing to bet Orochi had Oden's logbook all along.. but never gave it to Kaido, simply because:

1. He knows he will be untouchable if Kaido is there to protect him.... Without Kaido backing him, his reign as Shogun would've been as short as Akechi Mitsuhide... Everyone in Wano knows this.

2. Given Orochi's sly and cunning personality (which was really highlighted in the recent chapter), it makes sense for him to actually hide such an item from Kaido.
I also believe Orochi was the one who betrayed Oden 20 years ago, and was ultimately responsible for his death, in order to become Shogun.. He probably informed Kaido of something like this, but never gave the item as part of a grand plan, so that he could keep Kaido in Wano to protect him, all these 20 years.
