Loki's characterization and aura is too high to die imo, especially how young he is, it doesn't fit Oda way of writing.

Two different forms of reality warping.
Nika treats the world as a cartoon, and pushes the fourth-wall to its extreme.
IMU treats the world like a game, cheating the rules, taking the opponent's pieces for his own.

There are a lot of game references being incorporate into the story, I just see reversi as just another game reference. Oda won't make Imu another Yu-gi-oh!, Triple H I'm the game, a Dungeon Master.

Someone proposed Imu had game powers and this chapter does drive home the idea that Domi Reversi spreads through game mechanics (getting caugh between two same-colored pieces)

When done well these powers can be really cool. Look at Captain Kyoraku from bleach
