That’s a shame, Egghead has already been washing the shitty wano taste out of my mouth.
I do envy you. Egghead’s not a bad arc by any means, but I’m still so pissed off over how Wano went that it’s been difficult for me to be enthusiastic about anything since then.

Maybe with time I’ll be able to enjoy things again but I don’t think I’ll ever be as excited for this series as I once was.

That’s honestly quite valid the ending was so terrible. Makes me wonder if oda changed it just to allow it to align with film red because there was just so much shit that doesn’t make sense.

Regardless. I just see wano as shitty training arc because let’s be honest that’s all that arc really waz

I enjoy One Piece for its world building. I love the romanticism and creativity of each island. I also love Oda’s creativity when it comes to the devil fruits. Finally, I love the Strawhats and their interactions. For a four year long arc, Wano didn’t have enough crew interactions, however, Egghead island seems to be rectifying that!

I love almost everything about the series but I think it's the characters that keep me hooked

Maybe it's because I've been a fan of One Piece for so long but I just can't imagine not following the journey of the Strawhats

Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, Jinbei, even Vivi and Karoo

I can't even begin to explain how much I care for these characters

I know we all have our criticism towards One Piece, but hey, week after week we come to WG and discuss the manga.

So I want to know what do you enjoy about One Piece?

As for me, I enjoy world building the most and have a handful of favourite characters I am genuinely interested in. I also threw a couple of options to the poll for fun, because I also enjoy that I can discuss OP here on the forum with y'all :)

Definitely the humour and the relationships between the characters, especially the main crew. While that has had less of a presence of late due to some side characters, it's always a highlight to see them interact and joke around like a family would. The jokes have always been solid for me which also helps with certain more boring chapters I would say

I liked the adventurous feeling of OP pre ts
OP lost it a little bit post ts and the overall quality of story dropped for me though
Every island is like a new tiny world with its own theme
I also like the different fractions and clashing ideals
The history about the Void Century is interesting

What keeps me up today are certain characters or fractions
I love Zoro, Mihawk, Law, Robin, Jinbe, the Marines (especially the Admirals) and the Revolutionary Army

I really relate with you.
I'm still crying over Zoro's visit at Ryuma's grave THAT DID NOT HAPPEN

and wano ended like half a year ago😢

The sense of awe I experienced while the story was ramping up towards the Grand Line, and later towards Ace's execution will always remain with me as something no other manga could replicate.

Mihawk slicing a ship in half, Zeff eating his own leg, Luffy's execution in Loguetown, Zoro vs 100 bounty hunters, Sanji foiling Crocodile's plans, Chopper's backstory, the giant shadows before Jaya, the ringing of the Golden Bell, and all the character intros inbetween.

First of all, thanks to everyone for responding and voting in the poll!

I like how One Piece has dreams focused on freedom, without making the main characters perfect, idealistic people.
...
That's what makes the Straw Hats likeable. They're fucked up weirdos who decide to help people even when there's nothing really in it for them, and that's why I love them.
Yeah, One Piece is kind of a fucked up world, but the people and their dreams sure make the difference! And I do like a "ragtag of misfits" vibe

Memes and shitposting are the only reasons I’m still here tbh. That and having something to do to kill time.

After Wano ended I’ve largely stopped giving af about this series.
I feel sorry for you, and I can totally relate - Wano's arc and especially its ending left such a shitty taste in my mouth. I wasn't excited about OP at all, but then warmed up again thanks to Egghead. It's really a breath of fresh air, with fewer characters and so SH-centric!

That’s a shame, Egghead has already been washing the shitty wano taste out of my mouth.
This :kata:

I just can't imagine not following the journey of the Strawhats
Yeah, I've been reading One Piece for about 12+ years, so it is indeed hard to imagine not reading it. Glad you love SH crew so much!

I really relate with you.

Ryuma's grave, Zoro's backtory (and I'm not even that much of a Zoro-fan), certain someone NOT joining, lackluster GreenBull reveal... so many things could've gone better. Oh well, I remember heavily disliking 5th Harry Potter book (and it was one of the longer ones, if not the longest), still was glad that I finished that story, so I hold hope for One Piece... if no, memes and mad theories still keep me entertained :carrocorn:

Zoro.....if he doesnt exist
One piece cant go this far, so many cool moment from early episodes till now
His goal is clear and challenging enough to keep readers attached till this day, oda had to keep zoro handicapped either with hidden plot (like zoro backstory) or injury to keep him take over luffy spot

World building is great pre TS
Post TS almost everything is garbage, same old plot and plot dragging here and there, uninteresting character like rebecca, otohime, vander decken , otama, scabbard etc
