Luffy being able to change back to base from g4 snakeman so quick was really intersting. I'm wondering if thats a hint to his DF awakening, basically being able to selectively use attributes of g4, like maybe using KKG without having to waste haki coating entire body.

No.... it just would be stupid at this point to show him trying to blow up air and get into gears in a couple of panels...and also it will remove the flow of battle. Nothing to think much about it with logic.

Doflamingo had almost 1 HP left when Hit with KKG which is the Strongest Attack of Dressrosa Arc Luffy. Normal Kong Gun would Defeat Dofla at that Point but Oda simply wanted to show Luffy's full Strength before Yonko Saga began.

Dofla is Insanely Overrated based on KKG.
