He uses Ragnarok in his hybrid form while he uses Bagua in his base form. Personally, I think Bagua is stronger seeing how that shit took out Luffy

No, it was just armament. This entire chapter was really about Luffy showing off his overall mastery of the 3 haki types. Oda drew him using each one atleast once, to counter/block a Kaidou attack.

1.Hardening to swipe away Kaidou's dragon twister.

2.FS to blitz Kaidou's TB

Luffy was already interrupting Kaidou before he could finish completing calling out Thunder Bagua, and to further cement it he laughs and says "take that" before he landed the kick meaning he had already seen the future.

3. advCoC to halt his swing
