Your distinction only makes sense vs Kizaru though since otherwise, where is BM gonna find just magma, ice and so forth laying around?
It would make sense that, if she knows she is going to fight specific opponents that she goes on a search and then create specific homies but even if you do that, if the Awakening of Logias really works like Kats, the homie size-wise, becomes irrelevant anyway.
Like, we can say that Kid is special since technically, he is not controlling the homies directly but just becomes a magnet and draws them to himself, but it still underlines that BM´s control over homies does not trump other abilities on them, and neither can she remotely create as much as the owner of the element.

Either way, the arguments were that Linlin would use these elemental homies to soak up the attacks from the Logia admiral and then engage them in CQC. By definition the homies are both made out of and come into contact with the elementals that the Logia Admiral control.

Luffy literally used up ALL of his G4 haki to block a single attack from her. 
Against Kaido he didn’t even tire out until he got knocked out.

He used a Kong Gun, she blocked it with an elbow thrust which was COA hardened. He never ran out of Haki btw, there was no time limit after that clash - he was back up within a chapter. That temporary exhaustion is a part of G4.
Logia's have not demonstrated any measure of telekinetic control over elements that have been separated from their body. Kidd's ability is literally all about control. He cannot generate new metals but he can control and move existing ones. Elemental Homies created from her own soul have shown the ability to uptake their respective elements and grow stronger from it independent of Linlin. Until a logia shows telekinetic control over an element that they have not merged with or is still attached to their body, nothing has been debunked.
