29-year old Linlin was what Luffy currently is. The woman who would become King of the Pirates.

68-year old Linlin is what happens when you give up on your dreams, what Luffy would similarly become if he gives up.

BB is to Luffy what Roger was to Linlin. A person who was above them in that ambition facet. And Luffy will triumph where Linlin gave up.
