There's absolutely no proof that Birdcage wasn't taking away bits from Doffy's stamina. Birdcage was an active ability from Doffy as it got smaller and smaller while Doffy was fighting, that's why they had to knock him out to get away from it.

They're literally doing the same thing just in a different way.

Doffy never showed any signs of the birdcafe weakening him in anyway in fact he used it to his advantage while kaido would have more stamina by leaving the island in placd.

Only because we don't see Doffy worry about it doesn't mean it didn't impact him. Also, there's no automated ability. Doffy's stamina is the fuel to keep the ability running.
