You can argue that being in a belligerent drunken state is far from calm and alert. Kaido did not take these fights fully seriously until he started to 1v1 Luffy. Hence, why he activated FS the moment that he met an attack from Luffy that actually confounds him.

These one who said G4 would destroy Kaido and that he would need awakening to fight Luffy back, clearly took a L(with these I mean most like Sanjikun, dude is legit a walking L at this point). Even with adv CoC,Adv CoA and Adv CoO at top of G4, Luffy was losing the battle, his Over Kong Gun couldn´t even knock out Kaido. It clear that awakening will do lot of the job, ofc Kaido will tank lot of the awakened attacks too. Which will lead us to see awakened Luffy vs awakened Kaido.
G4 is not enough to beat Kaido for now...

Chapter is a lot better than what initial spoilers made it out to be. Kaido would have won even without CP0 interference.

The question is, who will come to stall Kaido this time?
Our options are:
SHs as all of them are free
Kidd
Yamato after seeing that Boro breath or Momo telling her that Luffy is down.
Or somehow Zunisha via Momo.

Denjiro cant do shit alone.

I really want to see SHs protecting their captain;

Nami using Zeus at his full potential
Franky using radical beam
Chopper just tossing Kaido in Monster point
Ussop dragging down Kaido dragon form back to ground
Sanji using ifrit janbe
Jinbe being Jinbe and using fishman karate.
