Coby really is the "Garp" of the new generation as much as Blackbeard is this generation's "Whitebeard." His dynamic with his gen's Pirate King is clearly different, but what matters is he's seen a the new "hero of the Marines" or something similar.

Xebec has not two (Kaido and Big Mom) but THREE new gen counterparts (Kaido, Big Mom, and Wang Zhi). I take it that Whitebead, Big Mom, and Wang Zhi (and maybe Shiki) were Xebec's heavy hitters.
