Those are structures that are dry. Magellan's poison is not gonna come at him slow and steady. Its gonna come at him from all sides and fast. The moment it touches croc, he becomes intangible, the poison starts affecting him, further hindering what chance he had.

Magellan just isn't a good match up for Crocodile at all.
