Looking back, what did that flashback actual do to push the plot along? Like most of it legit feels like anime filler.

Even the filler was 10x more entertaining than that mess.

When I saw the Yasuie flashback being used for Luffy I lost all faith in Zoro getting a good ending this arc. But never did I imagine oda would skip the Ryuma grave

Price wise, I recommend looking into box sets or omnibuses. they would cut the collecting price in half unless you plan to budget yourself out to one a month

I do miss filler that expanded the straw hats.
- Cooking filler for Sanji (G8 and Loguetown)
- Daddy the father for Usopp
- Hell even Zoros adventure in babysitting (Water 7)

All fun as hell.

I agree, would've preferred if Wano had a longer post arc to tie up loose ends like that instead of needing a flashback after the fact

ryuma backstory not draw on wano arc is worst thing that oda did .
‘I expect ryuma would be first guy to defeat admiral to back off invading forces.
‘The ryuma decide train his samurais to be strong like him . Imagine army of ryumas.
World government gave up on wano centuries ago due ryuma action.
