Luffy is enraged rn. He blindly rush Lucci with some ACoC punch. Lucci will take it, allowing S-Bear to get an opening and teleport him away.

I wonder what exactly is the difference between a desire manifested ability, like asura or DJ, and a devil fruit. Like at what point does such an ability become a devil fruit ability?

Because Zoro and Sanji can manifest desire into power, however they can still swim.

This is my theory devil fruit are will that manifests into the user's desire.

Its possible nika responded to luffy's innrr will .

So luffy when he thought of his fruit as gomu gomu fruit it manifested into his desire in reality the fruit's power holds something else .
