I always have believed dragon to be something like night guy 8 gates. Strongest of all but limited to how many time this can be used and WG knows this and hence the threat he posses.

Yes which means grades are already set silly..a grade can only change if it's given a grade in the first place. The only way in which a sword can change grades is if it becomes blackened permanently which mihawk did not do until many years later.

The manga never said this, the manga said a blackblade increases its rank never did the manga say it changes grades.
We already know in each grade of blades they are ranked from strongest to weakest
