Just one attack from Shanks was enough to the make Kidd's whole crew collapse. Law's crew actually withstood one of Teach's attacks and put up a noble fight against Teach and his boys. Moreover regardless of whether you think Shanks is stronger than Teach or not (i.e. which is an odd argument to make considering that very Shanks will almost certainly lose to Teach), Law went up against greater hax in the Yami Yami and still put up a noble fight whereas Kidd wasn't even able to put up a fight against Shanks. Kidd's crew got "annihilated" and last we saw of them they sank to the bottom of the ocean, most likely dead until confirmed otherwise whereas, Law's crew only got "defeated" and we actually saw Bepo escape with Law on panel.

There is a massive difference in treatment/portrayal not only btw Law and Kidd but their crews as well.

Then there's what this defeat means as far as both characters/crews are concerned.
A loss in the throne wars has little to no impact on Law's character as a whole as he's not interested in the PK title, he simply wants to find out the true history and an inevitable defeat to Blackbeard has no bearing on that whereas the same can't really be said about Kidd.

It literally say that Ben beckman, acoc user said on multiple time to be on par with his captain is not even guaranteed to have a better haki than a naval admiral, admirals who canonically do not totally rely on haki and have the strongest df in the verse so yes it's gas for admirals more than anything:endthis:
