I agree with that too what I'm saying is he did fight it himself without any help so it can be counted as a 1v1 but you said Luffy didn't win any fight 1v1.

Yeah he ran away and stayed away for hours at a time to recover haki.

Basically he only fought kata when both of them had their haki at their highest. If luffy didn’t kata would’ve killed him when he was hakiless

On of the first arcs in the series had Luffy literally letting Zoro get insulted and almost murdered by Mihawk (only intervened at the very end when he thought Zoro was dead), preventing Johny and Yosaku from intervening because it was"Zoro's fight".

But Luffy giving Momo a shot to protect his country even if he's outmatched is totally against his character. Forget him gathering his strongest men to jump on Ryo at the first occasion btw
