Seraphims are literally part clones, part using Lunarian genetics, and part cyborg. They can age and have feelings, like S-Snake showed. If you don't find this morally dubious, you're in a lot of delusion here.

No, Vegapunk started this whole thing willingly, he was very into all his "tasks". Oda did get him hurt and is alluding to his death and is showing his regret in the latest chapters. That is redemption, I don't know why you're pretending like it isn't happening.

Saturn won't get one because he's evil to the core.

We know Kizaru isn't really doing anything here, "deliberately trying to murder everyone" is just shooting random beams no one seems to be hurt from, and no one likely will the way things are going. I don't think Kizaru is even convinced in his orders on Egghead.
I kinda agree with you minus the Kizaru part, idk what this guy's intentions are anymore

LMFAO, Hanners-kun, you said in a few words what I tried to say in a thousand! I wish I could be as succinct/concise as you guys are!

Legends say, Vegapunk sings a mixture of Bad by Michael Jackson and I Feel Good by James Brown.

"You know whose bad, WOW I FEEL BAD!"

(Verse 1 - Parody of "I Feel Good" by James Brown)
Woah! I feel bad
Like I knew that I would now
I feel bad
Like I knew that I would now
So bad, so bad, I got a problem, yeah

(Verse 2 - Parody of "Bad" by Michael Jackson)
Your hatin' eyes, they're watchin' me
And I can't hide, I won't agree
Your slanderous words, they cut like knives
But I won't bow down, I'll rise

(Chorus)
'Cause I feel bad, so bad
I know you're watchin', you're just sad
But I feel bad, so bad
You know whose bad

(Bridge)
When I hear your lies, it makes me mad
But I won't let you bring me down, it's so sad
I got the power to stand my ground
Won't let your hate turn me around

(Verse 3)
I feel bad, like I knew that I would
But I won't let your negativity intrude
Your twisted words won't bring me low
I'll rise above, watch me go

(Chorus)
'Cause I feel bad, so bad
I know you're watchin', you're just sad
But I feel bad, so bad
You know whose bad

(Bridge)
When I hear your lies, it makes me mad
But I won't let you bring me down, it's so sad
I got the power to stand my ground
Won't let your hate turn me around

(Outro)
I feel bad, oh, so bad
But I'll keep on fightin', you know whose bad

Its like the same shit IRL when celebrities get away with so much because they made a half assed, insincere apology video and pretended to cry and said they felt bad and are sorry or just cry and claim they feel so sad anyway.

Or how people will just pretty/handsome people get with anything due to simping over their looks in general too.

Preach man, that phrase is the perfect way to summarise this too. The definition of science has gone too far as the trope/saying goes.

Hahahaha I love your song parody!!

There’s genuinely no excuse for cloning people against their will to make child soldiers…

I don’t know what reason he could possibly have for the SSG project but nothing could make this okay.

Well the seraphim are cloned from dangerous pirates so I'd consider it a morally grey area he isn't kidnapping children or anything major

THE KIZARUBER EATS, THE KIZARUBER EATS IS REAL!

Thank you so much Hanners-san! I'm so glad to hear that!

Preach man. Vegapunk somehow managed to outdo Caesar and Judge in being worse than them in some ways somehow.

Oda is really understating the horror of the existence of the Seraphims and Boa should have had a far more extreme reaction to hers too given her past naturally. Jinbeis should be very upsetting for him too.

Even then, it’s very strictly against the Geneva convention to experiment on prisoners of war. It was one of the most horrific things done by the nazis in WW2

Vegapunks doing something absolutely horrendous

I’m aware, but just because the verse doesn’t have a law against it doesn’t mean it’s not an atrocity.
🤔also would the warlords really be considered prisoners of war

Giving a bit of DNA In return for free reign sounds like a fair trade to me

Even if you disregard the pirates as bad people, he still made actual children into weapons.
Hmm that's one way to look at it

Another way is he made weapons that happen to look like children

Seeing how 3 of them are monarchs of sovereign nations, yes.

And you seem to be assuming the dna was taken willingly instead of without consent. There’s no way Doffy would agree to having his dna experimented on.

People not realizing that Vegapunks own greed is his and the worlds downfall really missed the theme of this arc.
Basically quoting Saturn… Really the guy to side with…

Vegapunk's story is ultimately linked to Nika's, and one of turning the government's assets or what they don't want uncovered against itself.

Seraphims are literally part clones, part using Lunarian genetics, and part cyborg. They can age and have feelings, like S-Snake showed. If you don't find this morally dubious, you're in a lot of delusion here..
Does Oda think or display it as much of a problem? Aside from the theft of DNA, and the backstory of the Lunarians, I don’t think so. I think he finds it intriguing, as simple as that. He probably implies the possiblity for them to find their own part in the world, or something like that… And that will be justice. But he doesn’t find their creation itself off-putting. (And they are not their full selves, that is probably not intended to be, although it maybe will be a “miracle” that they will be more individual than anticipated.)
And for what it's worth, he cloned himself...

No, Vegapunk started this whole thing willingly, he was very into all his "tasks". Oda did get him hurt and is alluding to his death and is showing his regret in the latest chapters. That is redemption, I don't know why you're pretending like it isn't happening.
No, he wasn’t, he protested longer than Kuma or said he was surprised when something was "misused" from his idealistic goals… He didn't ust have regret, but was shown being angrily disagreeing in the moment. He is displayed as an honest scientist, and brutely killing anyone for “redemption” isn’t the only way of storytelling.
And you imagining that is the "objective storytelling" happening is still just your interpretation.
After all, he was "killed" for going against Saturn's orders. And several copies of himself will live - and a majority of his research will probably remain for the benefit of the world. That is linked to the history and Nika, which the government wants to suppress.

Omfg, just stop. Kizaru takes it seriously, he is deeply unsettled and still continuing to follow orders when Saturn is not looking. He constantly has to be intercepted. (Even Vegapunk called him out.)
It is just convenient to give him leeway because of his portrayal as that quirky guy, and because after all the story is not so much interested in your bloodlust. But if you have such deep-seated beef against other individuals, that is your own choice, even if it inconsistently singles someone out.

That doesn't work since they're partly of biological nature with actual feelings and age. Needless to say weapons are not like that
Just to continue playing devils advocate

The Seraphim don't act like children can people who are bigger than most adults and act more like adults be considered child soldiers? Especially when they seem to have a rapid rate of growth ?

No, it's not my interpretation, it's what Oda is doing with Vegaskunk, go reread it.

LOL I'm not giving Kizaru leeway of any sorts, I think he's been pretty bland and as a result I don't care about him. I wish he was as threatening and ~unsettled~ as you describe him. The reality is he hasn't done anything useful since he landed there.

Size doesn't matter, age and stage of development does. The kids at Punk Hazard were huge, and they still were kids. I don't see how rapid growth changes anything, they aren't adults yet.

True but the children on punk hazard acted like children

🤔 I'm not saying what vegapunk did was right but is it truly unforgivable? Does he have zero moral high ground?
