I had a feeling something like this would happen when the spoilers first dropped

it makes no sense for Kid to be brought back so nonchalantly after he was essentially presumed dead the last time we saw him.

Doing that would basically undermine everything that happened in 1079.

Agreed

but it doesn’t make sense for Oda to retcon a fake death like that without it even being impactful.

When Kid does return, it shouldn’t just be a casual reaction piece panel. It should be impactful.

Maybe Luffy runs into a Kid that is a shell of his former self.

Maybe Kid returns as a commander on Teach’s grand fleet.

Maybe Loda finally shows Kid using CoC to hype him up.

Regardless it shouldnt just be a stupid reaction panel.
