In terms of relevance, Kizaru is fine. His presence in this story is one for the books.

One of the only antagonists who has history with Luffy in 3 separate arcs. Was responsible for the biggest turning point of this series, when the Strawhats had to split up on Sabaody. And now responsible for Vegapunk's death. His impact on this story is felt.

The only shame is we may never get to see what an all out Kizaru looks like, and that is a big big shame if you ask me. I'd trade that for character writing any day if I'm being honest. But objectively looking at it, Kizaru's character wasn't badly written at all.

The entire gorosei cat and mouse chase was handled so poorly. Oda had too many ideas in his head and couldn’t deliver it cohesively. He should have made it much simpler, the entire gorosei lineup didn’t even have to be there. I think that was all for that one hype panel of them against Nika. Just make it center around Saturn, VP/Bonney and Kizaru.

Wouldn't mind them being here, just activate Emeth's haki rope earlier, if you aren't gonna show much from the gorosei and vegapunk speech there's no need for all these chapters of cat and mouse

Egghead was Kizaru’s time to shine as a character, and Oda blew it.

It wasn't great, no. But Oda successfully expanded on Kizaru's character without ditching his casualness from Pre-Timeskip. And this chapter is where all the cracks from Egghead finally yield some results. I wanted glimpses of this earlier but seeing this isn't bad, it's consistent.

What has any antagonist done in the story? Kizaru had iconic moments, he had the role of menace for 2 arcs, accomplished that role to perfection. And in this arc he accomplished one of his major missions, while receiving some character moments.

He's done a lot in limited time. That's called impact.

Lol Big Mom vs Kidd and Law was garbage, 90% offpanel, and also Zoro/Sanji fights get half the focus Luffy's does. That's the reality.

How come you to the conclusion that he would turn into Fujitora?

I mean I don’t actually believe Kizaru is turning into Fujitora I’m being dramatic, Kizaru’s clearly grieving, but you just look at all the other instances of characters arguing with Akainu and they often go on a different path then him , Akainu inspires people to leave lmao…..but we’ll see.
